Covid-19 Update

Covid-19 Update

You might be aware that the yelabus charity has been delivering medical supplies during the Covid-19 outbreak in our local area, because we could not operate our usual service. If you were one of the over 300 households that benefited from the service, we hope that you have found our voluntary work with the NHS useful.

With the changes in regulations we and the local councils are looking at ways of reintroducing out traditional services as well as supporting the local pharmacists. When we do return, hopefully in July we will have to operate in a different way but our aim is to continue provide Transport For Our Community.

yelabus is a registered charity that provides group community transport at very reasonable rates in Hampshire, Surrey and Berkshire.

The charity has two adapted 15-seater minibuses with tail lifts that can accommodate wheelchairs. We are looking to extend the usage of our buses, particularly in the evenings and at weekends. If you’re in a group or know of one that needs help with transport, then please contact Tracey on 07719799263 or contact us via the website.

We are also looking for volunteer minibus drivers. Full training will be provided and no regular commitment is required. If you’re under 69 and would like to help your community please contact us.

Volunteers are also required to help with the running of the charity in various roles, such as publicity.

Like all charities we need donations to keep us going. If you could help us it would be greatly appreciated. Details of how to donate are on Fundraising tab.

Website Transfer

If you have tried to access our pages over the last few days, you may well have received a notification the site was not working properly.

We needed to move our site to a new service, which resulted in an outage.

We apologise for this, but we are now back up and running, and hopefully there will be no further issues.

Andy Whitaker

It’s with great sadness that yelabus has to announce that our President, Andy Whitaker died on Sunday night in Hospital.

At present we have no knowledge of any of the arrangements.

We at yelabus will miss him and Yateley will be a poorer place with his passing.
